What to know before you buy graded
Verify the cert, every time
Type the certification number into the grading company's own lookup. The card, set, grade and label type should match the listing photos exactly.
A 10 isn't a 10 across companies
PSA, CGC, Beckett and TAG use different scales and sell at different prices for the same card. Compare slab to slab from the same company.
Check the slab itself
Look for cracks, a loose card or a label that doesn't sit right. A damaged holder can be re-slabbed, but it's a cost.
